Brief Introduction: 

Fulvari Integrated Rural Development Organization is one of the nonprofit and non-governmental organization of Pyuthan district. It is established by socially active youths of Khaira VDC by collecting Rs. 2500/- from Deushi Bhailo program in Tihar. The organization was registered under the social registration act 2034 in District Administration Office Pyuthan in 2050 B.S. in the name of Fulvari Youth Club. Since 2052 BS it has been working as a development entity in the district by its name as Fulvari Integrated Rural Development Organization. Soon after 2072 B.S name was changed to Fulvari Integrated Rural Development Organization (FIRDO) Nepal. In short it is called by FIRDO Nepal. Its major objective is to enhance the society through social mobilizationon using and promoting the natural, economic, human and physical resources. Its head office lies at pyuthan municipality ward No 1 Khaira.

Since its establishment the organization has been expanding its areas for overall advancement of the community as well as the district. The organization is devoted to raise the life style of the rural people through social mobilization and people's participation in livelihood, Agriculture and livestock, climate change and adaptation, Natural resource Management, cooperative, Disaster Risk Management, safe drinking water and sanitation, Good governance, Education development, Rural enterprise development and Infrastructural development sectors. Due to our expertise in above sectors we were able to make desirable change to improve the living standard of rural livelihood. Due to its devotion in social mobilization, the organization successfully managed all of the assignments for the enhancement of the community during the critical situation of the country also.

The organization has focused to support the marginalized communities of the district. The untouchable, ethnic, women and disadvantaged groups are the targeted groups of this organization and has been executing various programs to promote their social status in physical, social, governance, education, economic and human rights areas.

FIRDO has experienced varieties of difficulties for while it was growing up. But with the support of different National and International Government and Non-Government institutional it could be able to expand its service areas. Its major approach to work jointly with the helping agencies carried it into a advanced position in the district. In association with the partner organizations it has been executing various tasks through the social mobilization to improve the society.

Since it is functioning as social mobilization in its working areas, it has got good experience to capacitate the community through social mobilization. Its major strength in the social mobilization is to encourage the people to be involved in local level planning

FIRDO has been working in association with various partner organizations for the implementation of different programs like Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) Program, Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM), Livelihood Forestry Program (LFP), Multi stakeholder forestry program (MSFP), Good Governance and livelihood project (GOAL), Women Empowerment and Income Generation Program, Agriculture Health and Alternative Livelihood (PAHAL) Program, IN-MAPs, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSSP) 1st Phase, Library Support Program, VWASH Plan preparation, Improve stove program, Goat Keeping program etc. Almost all the partner agencies have focused on livelihood through social mobilization for better result of the program. Till date, the partner organizations with whom FIRDO Nepal is associated are USAID/ Mercy Corps for PAHAL program, ADRA Nepal/ Rupantaran for GOAL project , ADRA Nepal for GOALII Project and PERCAV Project, Heifer Nepal for VITA II Project, GIZ for N-MAPs project & CARITAS Nepal for IPM program.

Since 26 years FIRDO Nepal has been working in rural areas of Pyuthan district mostly on the Social mobilization and people's participation. All the activities are targeted to the people under poverty line and low social status. It has been established as a successful NGO in Pyuthan as well as in Nepal due to its perfect leadership, skilled human resources & positive attitude towards rural development, and perfect management.
